New Hires

We would like to welcome some new staff members to our team: Nate Mason, Malee Garcia, EIT and Jordan Carneal, EIT.

Nate Mason has joined VLMK Engineering + Design as a Project Coordinator. He has his Bachelor of Science in Architecture from Portland State University. In his new position at VLMK, he will be working with the prime team on a variety of projects, as well as leveraging his artistic background to help grow VLMK’s digital rendering capability.

Malee Garcia has joined VLMK Engineering + Design as an Engineering Designer. She graduated from Virginia Tech with a Biological Systems Engineering degree focused on watersheds. She has 4 years of experience involving stromwater management and land development design.  Malee recently moved to Portland from North Carolina. She was previously working with a civil engineering firm and focused on the public commercial land development sector. In her new position at VLMK, she will be working with the civil team to design stormwater management facilities, grading and utility infrastructure for a wide variety of development projects.

Jordan Carneal has joined VLMK Engineering + Design as an Engineering Designer.  Jordan graduated from Old Dominion University in Southeast Virginia with a degree in Civil Engineering.  For the past six years, he has worked for a small structural engineering firm in Wilmington, NC mostly revolving around beachfront, hurricane-prone projects. In his new position, Jordan is excited to expand his knowledge base and engineering experience, given the change from east coast to west coast, and a larger emphasis in commercial and industrial projects.
