Lava Court
Size: 89,200 SF | Location: Bend, OR | Client: MCM Architecture
This mixed-use infill project was built in the heart of Bend, Oregon. The 82,900 square foot building features five stories and a basement garage. Retail shops at street level invite pedestrian traffic, and also include a small private courtyard. Apartment units situated above provide an opportunity for downtown living in this fast-growing Central Oregon city.
The building was constructed using post tensioned concrete slabs on the main and second floors. The upper four stories are conventional wood framing, though special consideration is given to reducing wood shrinkage and minimizing lateral drift in the shear wall systems.
