VLMK Engineering + Design provided structural engineering services for the renovation of an existing building for the latest Mike’s Drive-In restaurant located at 3233 N Lombard Street, Portland, OR 97217. VLMK provided structural support for a new rooftop equipment, added a canopy for the walk-up window, and added a storage mezzanine inside.

Fun Fact: The existing building used to be a bank and where the restrooms are now, used to be the coin vault.

Mike’s Drive-In has been making burgers & shakes in the Portland area since 1971. Their ingredients are locally sourced, and the food is always made-to-order & hot. Mike’s offers over 10 different burgers and over 30 flavors of milkshakes. There are four locations to visit: Oregon City, Tigard, Milwaukie, and North Portland. Dine-in, use the walk-up window or drive-thru.
